Day 1: Arrival to Socotra/Ayhaft Canyon (2 hours trek)
Arrival at the airport and transport you to Ayhaft Canyon National Park. On this way (wadi), you will find large fresh waterpools where you can swim or soak. All around you, there will be Tamarind trees, Cucumber trees and a wide variety of birds such as Socotra Sparrow, Socotra Sunbird and both Socotra and Somali Starlings. In fact, Ayhaft is considered as a natural nursery due to its large abundance of endemic trees, plants and birds. You will do a two hours trekking here. Dinner and overnight camping.
Day 2: Wadi Deanghan-Kishan-Adoho Dema’alah (6 hours trek)
After an early breakfast, we will drive to wadi Danghan, the starting point of the trek. After loading our staff on the camels , we will hike for about 3 to 4 hours. On the way to Kishan we are expectated to cross granit wadies and walk among endemic plants such as Croton Socotrano and Adenium. Lunch will be prepared and served in Kishan as picnic. Later we will hike to Adoho Dema’alah where we will stop and have a rest for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Farah mountain (higest peak of Socotra)-Adho Dema’alah- Da’arho (6 hours trek)
After breakfast, we will trek to the most beautiful and interesting area of central region, called Skand. It has high density of vegetation; you will be astonished by the jungle of huge plants. Skand is also the site where the highest peak of the island is situated: 1600 m approx. By lunch time we can back to Adoho Dema’alah and later have a new trek to Da’aroh. Dinner and camp in Da’aroh
Day 4: Da’arho-Farmhin Forest- Wadi Darhur (6 hours trek)
Today morning, we will have our adventure to Farmhin Forest, This is the last Dragoon’s Blood wood forest: nowhere else in the world can be find Dragoon Blood trees in such densities. Later keep hiking to Derhur, a canyon where we will see the unusaual, beautiful rock formations. We will then make our way down to the wadi for lunch with an easy walk and time might be enogh for a swim in the fresh water pool with a natural slide. Dinner and overnight in wadi Darhur
Day 5: Dihamari Marine Protected Area
We will drive to Dihamri marine protected area. It boasts with one of the richest coral reefs on the archipelago. You can relax on the beach in palm leaf huts and swim, snorkel or dive. Snorkeling and diving equipment can be hired on the place. Marine species you will see underwater include: Parrotfish, Moray eel, Rays, Sea urchins, if you are lucky you will meet turtles. Dinner and night in an eco-camp in Dihamri
Day 6: Hoq Cave / Homhil Protected Area (5 hours trek)
This morning, we will make an early start to drive to the base of Hoq cave in Terbak village. Before the sunshine gets too hot, we will walk up to the entrance of the cave. It is more than 3 km long, with a water pool at the end and holds a wealth of Socotri history. Inside, you will see ancient stalactites, stalagmites and crystallic formations. Ancient writings on the cave walls and also what appears to be a picture of an old trading ship have been preserved over the ages by a calcite glaze. There is also evidence to suggest that the cave was once used for ritual purposes by the presence of mysterious ‘alters’.
In the afternoon we will trek to Homhil: the trek to Homhil starts at the bottom of a spectacular ravine on the sea level. The trek is of medium difficulty and won’t take more than 1,5 hours. You will have enough strength to enjoy the view back towards the sea where we have started ascending. Once at Homhil, we can choose from a selection of walking trails. You will be astonished by the prehistoric atmosphere of the landscape rich with dragon blood trees and bottle trees. You will be addressed by local children who sell dragon blood raisin and frankincense. One of the trails leads to a viewpoint with a natural pool with almost freezing green and blue water. Day 7: Qalansyia / Detwah Bay/ The Golden Beach of Shu’ab
Today we will drive to the western part of the island where a little fishermen’s town of Qalansyia is located. It consists of traditional Socotri houses, narrow alleyways and a long beach full of fishing boats ready to set off for today’s catch. We will continue to neighboring Detwah lagoon which is a marine protected area renowned for its magic landscape. You will be charmed by a white sandy tongue surrounded by turquoise waters of the bay. This surely is one of the best views on the island. You can jump in the shallow sea there and enjoy the paradise. Only be careful with sting rays that can be seen in the lagoon. There is also an array of sea birds to be seen in the lagoon.
We will go for a boat trip to Shu’ab. We will surely meet some Spinner Dolphins along the way with cormorants flying over our heads. Once at Shu’ab, we can have a look at a mangrove area. We will have a lunch on the long and clean Shu’ab beach. In the afternoon, feel free to swim and enjoy this pristine place. In late afternoon, we will take a boat ride back to Qalansyia. Line fishing is possible from the boat if you want to catch your today’s dinner. Dinner and overnight in Detwah campsite.
Day 8: Departure from Socotra
After an early breakfast, we will visit Adeeb botanical garden where hundreds of seeds for the Socotran’s endemic plants are grown. Then we will drive you to the Socotra airport. You can visit a souvenir shop there while waiting for a short flight to the mainland.

We need you to send us copy of your passports in order to process your visas from here. Once we received the scan of your passport page (the one with photo) we will process the visa and send you a scan of the visa two weeks before your arrival. Please bring it with you. The original will be waiting for you upon your arrival to Socotra airport or Sana’a airport and we will be there to help you. You hand them your passport and the scan of the visa. They will put the visa into your passport. You do not need to pay anything at this point. With the passport now provided with a visa and the filled-in “arrival card” you proceed to the immigration and then pick up your luggage. This is when you will meet us at the airport.
Most of our itineraries are “ECO” so we strongly suggest to our guests to stay in eco campsites. There are however two eco lodges close to Hadibo: Adeeb and Delisha.and four hotels on Socotra, all of them in Hadibo: three economic hotels (Taj Socotra Hotel, Socotra Tourists Hotel and Hafej Hotel).
