As you know, the best catch always comes before sunrise and afternoon. At these times your fish can be over a meter long so make sure to bring all your equipment, including the strongest lines since those are not available on the Island.

Note

When it comes to fishing, Socotra’s sea is an environment which provides high concentration of most sport fish species, Wahoo, Grouper, Snapper and particularly Barracudas seem to be frequent and give a most exciting fight. The fishing trips in Suqotra Island are amazing and will make your trip unforgettable. Socotra is located in a marine environment that has high concentrations of virtually all the major sport fish species; Marlin, Swordfish, Sailfish, Kingfish, Tuna, as well as Grouper and Snapper on the reefs. The coastal waters of Socotra teem with fish, attracted by the uniquely-structured undersea habitat which provides for an ideal growth environment and a virtually virgin fishing area! The majority of the locals on the island are fishermen. While we all know that fish tend to congregate due to the nature of the bottom terrain and currents, finding a good spot that hasn’t been over-fished is becoming harder and harder.
